Estimates

Estimates are valid for 30 days from issue.
Please make a note of the estimate number for future reference.
Please check the estimate contains all required work. If an item is not included in the quotation, it will be charged as an extra.
All estimates are subject to 20% VAT unless a VAT exemption certification is produced before work starts.

Payment Options

Debit card, Credit card BACS, Cash, direct debit scheduled payment (please see estimate/ invoice for details)

Payment Terms

Payment schedule for quoted work
Before work commences – 30% + VAT of the total value of work
Half-way through work – 60% + VAT of the total value of work
Completion of work – The remaining 10% is to be paid no later than 14 days after issuing the final invoice. (Late payment will be passed on to a 3rd party collection will incur interest rate of 4% over the base rate with additional charges)
Call-out or small works under the value of £1000 + VAT
Payment is to be made on completion of work before the engineer leaves site.
A deposit of up to 50% may be requested before the job is booked in.
Extras are chargeable at any point during the work being undertaken

Schedule of Rates

(Please note – prices listed are for reference purposes only and may differ)
(The number of Electricians / Labourers will be confirmed with the client before work commences).
Hourly Rate (Essex and Kent outside M25)
Electrician – First hour £75 and £45 every hour after
Electrical labourer – First hour £40 and £22 every hour after
Day Rate (Essex and Kent outside M25)
Electrician – £325 per day 8.00 – 4.30(40 minute lunch)
Electrical labourer – £175 per day 8.00 – 4.30 (40 minute lunch)
Hourly Rate (London / within the M25) Minimum £250 charge Electrician – First hour £95 and £60 every hour after
Electrical labourer – First hour £60 and £30 every hour after
Day Rate (London / within the M25)
Electrician – £420 per day 8.00 – 4.30 (40 minute lunch)
Electrical labourer – £210 per day 8.00 – 4.30 (40 minute lunch) Parking
Parking charges may be applied if free parking is not provided. Congestion / Dart charge
Congestion charge / Dart charge will be added to invoice if applicable.

All prices are subject to VAT at 20%

Materials

If quoted separately, materials will be charged at Trade price + 10% mark up and are subject to VAT.
A collection charge may be applied to non-stock items of no more than £50 + VAT.
All materials remain the property of DM Electrical (Essex) Ltd until the final invoice is paid.
Any materials ordered, which are not from stock will be subject to a restocking fee charged by the supplier, if returned
Any materials that are changed after installation are non-refundable. Unless otherwise agreed, accessories installed will be:
Standard accessories used if not otherwise specified
Socket, Switches and Accessories Hager curved edge white or click mode curved edge white and Downlights Ansell Prism pro

Warranties

Please keep a copy of your invoice for proof of warranty. All labour is covered by a 6 year warranty.
Materials supplied by us are covered between 2 and 10 years depending on the manufacturer.
Materials not specified / supplied by DM Electrical (Essex) Ltd are not covered.
Deadlines and schedules
All deadlines and work schedules must be confirmed in writing to Info@dmelectricalessex.co.uk before work commences and updated at each stage i.e. at 1st and 2nd fix.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel (or rearrange) your booking, you must notify us (preferably by telephone) by the end of the working day before the scheduled booking. Cancellations made further in advance should also be made by telephone, and you should request written confirmation from us, so that you are not liable to be charged.
If you cancel your instructions more immediately prior to work being carried out, or materials being supplied, you will be liable for the cost of any time and materials incurred by us, together with the profit that would have been made by us, in accordance with the original instructions.

Liability 

We will only be liable for rectifying our own guaranteed work, and will not be held responsible for any ensuing damage or claims resulting from other work overlooked or subsequently requested and not undertaken at the time.
We will not be held liable or responsible for any damage or defect resulting from work not fully guaranteed, or where recommended work has not been carried out. Work will not carry a guarantee where you have been notified by the tradesperson either verbally or indicated in ticked boxes or in our comments/recommendations.
We shall not be held liable for any delay, or consequences of any delay, in performing our obligations if such a delay is due to any cause beyond our reasonable control and we shall be entitled to reasonable time extensions.
We will be entitled to fully recover the costs or damages from any tradesperson whose negligence or faulty workmanship makes us liable to pay for those damages or rectification of work.

Complaints

All complaints are to be made by email to info@dmelectricalessex.co.uk Reasonable time should be allowed to rectify any issues raised.
Any counter charges for plastering/decoration etc. must be charged at a reasonable rate. This may be confirmed by a 3rd party.
(Please note we are not liable for a poor finish of plastering around socket boxes etc. All box holes should be cut to the exact size of the chased-in box and cleared out by plasterers before 2nd fix)
An hourly rate may be charged for finding lost cables, clearing-out boxes and repairing cables caused by other trades.
